TODAY for The Simple Woman's Daybook

~ TODAY ~
Outside my window... it is cloudy and very dark as it is after 10.00pm, It rained steadily today from about 5.00am.  It has cooled down a little, long sleeves are the order of the day.
I am thinking about my family.... I phoned my son today, but could not reach my daughter on any of her three phone numbers.  I think she must be at Uni, which she attends a couple of days every month or so, along with her full-time job and the alpacas.
I am thankful for ..... my family, the rain, my garden, my lovely day today, the weekend we had away and so much more.
From the kitchen..... I told you about the fieldmouse, well DH ordered a trap online that catches them alive, and he caught two last night, and took them for a ride out into the country this afternoon.
I am wearing..... denim jacket, red shirt, and black trousers and ankle boots.  I'm lazy, I'm still dressed from this morning. Usually I change when I walk in the door, but didn't today.
I am going.... to Bible Study tomorrow, we are doing Romans 1- 8 this term.

I am reading... Winds of Honour from the library.... I usually get a couple of books when we go away for the weekend. I just looked it up, published 2005, out of print, and one new copy available at one bookseller for $50, and then there would be postage...... and I just take it for granted from the library. I must admit we do buy books online, usually used copies, though not fiction.
I am hoping.... to catch up with my daughter. It is her birthday tomorrow. I've sent a gift, and today a message on Facebook.
I am hearing ... it sounds like crickets outside, otherwise all is quiet.
Around the house.....  it is a bit messy, and the washing is still waiting from the weekend, I do hang it out on the deck, but a lot of moisture in the air today.
One of my favourite things..... avocados...... we have had so many this year, but I think the season must be nearly finished.
A few plans for the rest of the week.... just the usual, including singing on Friday, and we are going to an old-time family dance on Saturday night, with our dance class members.  We still have a long way to go to be proficient, but I'm looking forward to chatting as well as dancing.
Here is the picture I am sharing... I have a print of this and I am fond of it.

I am always referring to my son's uni timetable, it must be hard when it is on odd times.

I know how to dance, but haven't for years. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I wonder if you have seen the Koorong site. It is where I usually order things from, or BuyAustralian. Koorong has lovely books that are usually found in America and is Christian.

Thanks for your lovely comments. My daughter was staying in Sydney for the Uni course and I caught up with her on the FB chat early this morning. She has a good job with her local council and is doing a course about fire prone areas and dwellings (sorry I can't remember the details). She will be finished soon.
Linda, so thoughtful of you to recommend the sites. I have accounts at Word and Koorong and buy DVDs, books and gifts online from them, as we don't have a comprehensive Christian bookshop here or the next town..... I was thinking of used books, hubby likes natural remedy type books, for example we got a flyer with US address for one on inflammation that would have cost $90 including P&H, found a used one for $8, same edition, and with air post for about $12, landed here for about $AUD22. If I want a new secular book, I look it up online, find out what it costs and which edition I want then order from a bookstore in the next town, and they absorb the postage.
The Crumbs of Comfort book I wrote about in one of my first posts is an example.
Blessings, dear friends, have a lovely week.
