The Last Leg
Saturday was the Reunion that was the 'excuse' for our trip to Sydney. I was looking into getting there on the train, but Barry drove me, and it was also the first leg of our trip home from the mountains.
Sixty six who had worshipped at New Life Chapel, Neutral Bay attended, and many had not seen each other since 1983-84 or even earlier so there were excited people, photos, speeches etc, and promises to keep in touch. The lunch was great too.
We had an unusual trip home as we don't normally drive at night these days. We left NW Sydney at about 4.30pm. We stopped at The Rock past Newcastle and I cooked dinner there and we settled for the night. Barry hasn't been comfortable sleeping with this cold, and he got up and made milo at about 2.00am and off we drove. There was no traffic and it was quite pleasant. We stopped at a Driver Reviver that had a roaring fire and stayed about half an hour chatting with the voluntary attendants.
At 7.30am we were at Macksville and decided to have a little snooze next to the Nambucca River. Next thing it was 10.30am and we continued on to Grafton and lunch and a little shopping.
We had lunch here next to the Clarence River, the trees are on an island in the river, before driving on home. As usual I unpack the RV before I sat down....... I know if I don't that it would take me a few days.
Now we are to get back into our routine..... though I will be surprised if we are singing on Thursday and Friday. Anyone interested in earlier stages of our trip, just click 'home'.
I am linking in with Sally for Blue Monday, and you can too, just click here

You did well driving at night. glad you arrived safely. We stopped for lunch in a cafe overlooking the Clarence I have an identical photo.Unpacking and washing always spoils the end of a holiday.
Wonderful blue themes and scenes!
Happy BM, Jan!
Hi Jan,
You experienced a touch of Heaven, I think!
Happy Blue Monday!
Reunions are always a wonderful excuse to travel. I know it is for us and we do enjoy sharing tales with all the family and hearing theirs as well! Wishing you well!!! Cathy
Oh my sweet Jan it has been such a journey with you, I have so enjoyed it, I have loved every photo and every comment you have shared with us bloggers, I love your site, it really makes my day, lots of hugs my friend, Barbara
Loved taking the trip with you. I love seeing anything from your country. Such a pretty world there.
So glad you are home safe and sound after what sounded to me like a strenuous night! Sure don't like driving in the dark any more! Be happy and have a good week!
Wonderful scenery from your trip. Pretty blue skies there. Happy Blue monday!
I really enjoyed your pictures. Having bogging friends across the world is SO fun!Come by and visit when you can. I just love company. Debbie
Sounds like a wonderful trip for you both. I liked the driver reviver station you stopped at. We do have one on the road to Christchurch but we have never stopped, I don't think it is open at night, but what a good idea. You wee very good, stopping for a snooze when you felt tired, wish more people would do that, safer for everyone!
Thanks for your lovely comments.
Actually we stopped at three Driver Reviver, chatted with people, patted some dogs etc.... though one attendant said there are not so many these days..... we have a break, get a nice cup of tea or coffee and give a small donation.

Sounds like a lovely trip Jan. I was fascinated about the Driver Revivers. I've never heard of them but they sound like a wonderful idea!
