Scenic Sunday

I was looking through my photos and here is one taken on the outskirts of Toowooomba a few years ago when we were there at a motorhome rally.    They were being careful with water at that time, and now in January this year the main street of the city was the scene of such utter devastation, with the scenes repeated on the TV news around the world.

That is so sad, Jan. As a Southerner, I can certainly identify with this as Florida, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast (among other places) have all experienced devastating hurricanes. While New Orleans got a lot of the worldwide attention, the devastation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast was staggering. Katrina destroyed whole towns, and it also destroyed something like every Episcopal Church on the Coast. Hence, my heart goes out to Australia at this time. I am so sorry for the loss of both life and property.

My family visited Toowoomba on more than one occasion, in their caravan too.
I wonder if your paths ever crossed there?
We have been saddened to hear about the floods and all the devastation and upheaval they have caused.

Thank you, as Australians share the grief when others suffer disasters, so we have been blessed by the prayers and support from across the world, in the devastation here, though not in my hometown.

Yes Toowoomba is a beautiful city and a venue for many visitors with its beautiful Carnival of Flowers in September. I have photos I took there, but on another ccomputer.

I saw a video of the flooding in Toowooomba a few days ago. I've been away from the news for a few days, but I pray that the flood waters are diminishing there.
