Our journal and glimpses of an active, contented life in country Australia

Saturday, June 12, 2010

We had a lovely surprise this afternoon. A car pulled up outside with unexpected visitors, and it was my brother, the one next to me, hadn't seen them for a while.  We had a lovely visit, catching up on their news, and the news from my hometown.

We did have a reunion at our place, a year or two ago, and there has been a few mentions of another one around the family, but no-one has tried to make a firm date.

They were keen, and he said the other brother that lives near them is keen, and my sister in Brisbane is keen, so it will probably happen in he next month or two.

Here is my selection for today, an old familiar tune, one of my favourites.

Oh my. What a great pianist. Who couldn't love this song? I've never heard the Gaither version; lovely.

Hope that reunion gets planned and enjoyed!

Aw, that was sweet of your brother to drop by and visit you. I used to love making surprise visits to family members whenever I was in their towns :-)

Hello Jan
What a great surprise to have your brother drop in like that - lets hope you can organise the family get together soon
You asked about me going away in your recent comment - we will be going to see family and friends in Cananda this August, will be away for a couple of months and I am a bit unsettled with having to leave Kiera in the cattery for that length of time - I wrote a post a short while ago about is having to goodbye to her companion (Leroy) and she will be on her own. She does seem to have sttled down now
Take care
Cathy

Hi, Jan, I love meeting other Grandmothers. I live in Washington state, USA on the Pacific Ocean side.

I'm a Women's Ministry leader/speaker and was talking with a woman who is starting up a bible study in her nursing home with our help. I used to go into nursing homes when my children were young and play the guitar for them. I see that you have a nursing home ministry too with your husband. What a great way to spend retirement!

Nice to meet you! Top on by for a visit at http://www.DonnaPerugini.blogspot.com
