"Meeting friends and trip to Emergency"

Met up with friends for  our Saturday morning coffee and a good laugh as usual.

But there was an unexpected twist to the day. Barry had been stung by a bee this morning, first time ever, as the trees in the backyard have lots of blossoms and bees just now.  On the advice of the Pharmacist we ended up at Emergency this afternoon (that is how we see a doctor if it isn't 9-5 Mon to Fri).  No drama, the doctor said it was localised and the swollen area could go half way up his arm, not to worry unless it got to his armpit.

Love you to join in My Sunday Quote and help get it going.

Blessings for a pleasant weekend.
Hugs, Jan

Glad it wasn't too serious. We used a baking soda and water mixture to get the stinger out.

It definitely could have been much worse. Glad it wasn't.

Glad he was okay. I once had my foot swell so much that all the skin on my toes split from a bee sting - they're nasty little critters, now he has the itching to look forward to

Ominous words but glad it worked into an annoyance rather than a serious condition.

Bees! Why can't they stick to making honey? Too cold here for bees.

Oh no! those darn bees they have a sneaky way of getting into trouble! Also, not sure if I mentioned this before, I just adore your header photo, man busy shooting photo of bird that happened to fly in while all that beauty in painting hang waiting to be seen! I love it!

I love your header photo as well and to have this be the 1st bee to get him that is living well amongst each other. I seem to annoy bees just by being close to a flower, baking soda in a paste helps numb the sting site. Hope it goes down quickly.

Thanks for all your kind comments. The positive thing is that his breathing was not afffected, however his whole hand is swollen this morning.

Bee stings can be scary but I'm glad it turned out not to cause any further drama.

Hope you had a lovely remainder of the weekend and thanks for playing 6WS!
