Time is slipping away so quickly

I know everyone is saying.... where does time go.  I remember as a child a year seemed like an eternity, and now it just races by.... no doubt because we have so many interesting things to do these days.

The  highlight of this week was the Volunteers thank you dinner at one of the Aged Homes..... they have so many that help out, must be about 50 people, from pastoral care to playing cards, or bingo or hoy etc, as well as the singers that entertain the residents.  We were sitting with another duo, and also friends from a larger group of singers, and we had a very pleasant evening. We had not met the duo before, though we had heard of them, and they will be entertaining in the West wing at St Josephs next week, while we are in the East wing, at the family Christmas parties!!

We have 21 Christmas Carols and songs in our repertoire now, and we usually do 25-30 songs, so we will add in a couple of others as well, though at one place the Activity Officer said they will be Christmas Carolled out by the time we do our show, and they want our usual program.

We went to an outdoor Carols last weekend, and have another one tonight, and a couple more to come.  I have been thinking with the snow and cold weather in the Northern Hemisphere, this would not be a feature of your Christmas season...... would love to hear about your traditions!

Have to get ready for Church now..... hope to get back tonight.  Take care and God Bless.

I love this time of year! Singing along
with the songs of Christmas brings cheer
to the heart. I know you and your husband
are doing just that to the sweet folks
in the homes.
Blessings,
Sandy

Time does slip by so quickly! The dinner sounded like it was a great one! I love the picture =)

The Sunday school kids in my church head to the nursing home nearby to do a program: carols with scripture. And then we give them presents =)

Great post! Have a blessed weekend!

This must be a fun and uplifting activity. You must get someone to video some of your carols to play on the blog.

Time does slip by doesn't it. I had afternoon tea today with my 87y.o Granny, she said the same thing to me."Caroline I don't where the years have gone, they have just flown"
Haven't been caroling for a few years now but I really do enjoy it.Have a lovely week

It was a joy to read about your caroling; what a blessing to so many! We often have the pleasure of having carols sung at our door by a group of friends who ride on a hayrack and go caroling around our small town. it has been many years since I have been caroling door to door!
