DAYBOOK

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... It has clouded over again! Oh no, it might even rain again.  It is damp and dank underfoot.  This morning was so bright and sunny, not a cloud in the sky.

I am thinking... about our walk this morning, it was good to meet up with our group again.

I am thankful... that Barry enjoyed his birthday so much yesterday, and do you know what the highlight was ....LOL... when I presented him with a little homemade birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday Mr President a la the voice of Marilyn Monroe.  He had gifts cards, messages, friends call in, a long phone call with his son, and I prepared a beautiful meal with our best friends along, and the song is what tickled his fancy!!!!!  He is doing much better this year, after health issues, praise The Lord

In the kitchen... Everything in order. I prefer not to have a dishwasher, and do not allow friends to help, so I washed up early this morning before going walking.

I am wearing... still in my red and white walking t-shirt.  It is a group sponsored by the National Heart Foundation.

I am creating... Have a few projects on the go, but nothing new.

I am going... nowhere special at the moment. We did plan to go to Russell Crowe's Museum of interesting things for Barry's birthday, but the flooded roads between here and there stopped that, so we will go soon.

I am wondering... just when we will be able to clean up the garden and get the grass and weeds under control.

I am reading... just the Bible and odds and ends, I took the library books back, and didn't borrow any more just yet ..... does doing crosswords count...LOL

I am hoping... that we will have a good year with Barry's health.

I am looking forward to... all the regular activities gearing up, Know Your Bible and two Ladies Groups at my Church this week.

I am hearing... the whirr of the ceiling fan.

Around the house... not too bad, things slipped a bit with the Australian Open tennis on over the last couple of weeks, some matches went until the early hours of the morning, and even if I went to bed, I could not rest properly until the TV was off etc.

I am pondering... how much I have been enjoying blogging again... and I have been thinking about a post for Spiritual Sundays.

One of my favorite things...
having friends over for dinner.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Just regular activities. We start singing for Aged Care again next week.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Just to remind me to get walking more often!!  It is a pic I took of the badge they sent last year.

Thank you to Peggy for the Daybook format, see her blog and many more posts here.

Hopefully getting back into routine for the year

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...

The  sun has been trying to shine after recent torrential rain. It has been humbling watching a couple of sparrows sheltering in the aluminium louvres outside our living room window.
I am thinking...

how quiet it is staying home on an Australia Day holiday, when activities that we planned to attend have been cancelled and there doesn't seem to be much traffic.
I am thankful...

that we came home a few days earlier than we originally planned and missed the landslide on the mountain and the flood at Bellingen
In the kitchen...

Some small cakes that I made for an out-of-town friend who was calling in yesterday, but she was unable to get out yesterday or today. We have arranged to meet for lunch tomorrow.
I am wearing...

A sleeveless cotton dress, very cool, I got two in a sale at a very reduced price somewhere on my travels.
I am creating...

Nothing today, but I did make seven of the knitted teddy bears for "Care and Share" while we were away, I am  a better passenger if I am knitting....LOL
I am going...

to get busy in the garden when this rain is finished and it dries a little!
I am reading...

Haven't been reading much, still dipping into the Healing Musician
I am hoping...

for a fine weekend so that we can celebrate hubby's birthday as planned
I am looking forward to...

the above (more later)
I am hearing...

the TV in the living room
Around the house...

started tidying cupboards...... ran out of inspiration on that though

One of my favorite things...
visiting family, but will have to be content with phone calls and FB for months to come
A few plans for the rest of the week:

as mentioned, lunch at the club tomorrow, and hopefully a couple of days away over the weekend.
Here is picture I am sharing...

A DAY AT "A TAPESTRY of LIFE"

Outside my window... A cloudy, cool day, I even have a cardigan on. Every cloud has a silver lining, I can hear birds singing, and that ususally only happens in the early hours before it gets too hot.
I am thinking... where has the year gone, here we are preparing for Christmas again
I am thankful for... doing my gift shopping yesterday.... all done. Also for friends and my life here, I was at Care and Share with Val and friends this morning, where we bring along the items we have made for Missions without Borders in Eastern Europe and have a morning together, and my Friend Lynn just brought back my banner that she used at the Carols on Sunday night.
Val played this on her laptop from youtube

From the kitchen... Barry bought a new Rouge French Oven for the cooktop yesterday, and has offered to prepare dinner in it tonight
I am wearing... my oldest black slacks, 3/4 sleeve cotton shirt in orange/pink tones, and the cardigan
I am creating... well not really, just writing Christmas cards.
I am going... to a Volunteers thank you at one of the homes tomorrow
I am reading... a new release borrowed from our local library:

It marks the 100th anniversary of his voyage to Antartica. Click here for synopsis
I am hoping... for safe travel for loved ones.
I am hearing... traffic in the distance and the joyful calls of birds in the garden.
Around the house... Christmas gifts waiting to be wrapped, christmas cards not finished.
One of my favorite things... seeing my little plants thriving.
A few plans for the rest of the week.... Us giving Christmas concerts for Aged Care Thursday and Friday
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Tuesday Daybook

FOR TODAY
Outside my window..
. It is dark after 9.00pm, but I imagine it is cloudy as it has rained a few times today.  Although it has felt a little cooler at times over the last week or so, it can still be quite warm.

I am thinking... about how the power adapter for my laptop has a problem, and I am back on a PC, and it takes so long to open my friends blogs, I have given up in frustration, so I have really let people down who have commented, as I have not returned the visit. I have a quote for $132 for a new one, but want to see if an electronic friend can do anything with it before I go ahead.

I am thankful for... peaceful times with friends, especially the campfire on the weekend

From the kitchen... I rearranged a cupboard and got rid of an untidy corner.  Also we have continued to make our own butter, and then we make pancakes with the buttermilk, a real treat.

I am wearing... nightwear.

I am creating... a fresh living room. We are painting it.

I am going... to just the usual this week.

I am reading... my bible.  Apart from my main one I also have an illustrated bible and I am enjoying that one. As we are studying Isaiah  I made up a laminated sheet with current territries in the Middle East on one side and Bible Times on the other to save flipping to the backs of our Bibles, particularly as we have a bit of trouble remembering which country is which.

I am hoping  ....just the usual things, nothing special.

I am hearing... the TV in the background at the other end of the house, as Barry is preparing a wall for painting and watching a show.
Around the house... The lawn needs mowing as it has been wet again lately, I think we missed the window of opportunity this morning.

One of my favorite things... I have been playing the ukulele more lately, it is my instrument of choice when we go along to the jams in recent times. At the campfire we had a fiddle, several guitars, penny whistle, banjo, mandolin, ukulele lagerphone and clapsticks.

A few plans for the rest of the week..... very quiet week, apart from Bible Study tomorrow, and taking the opportunity to do some cleaning, such as the bistro blinds on the deck.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing... oh dear, I only have old pics on here!! No wonder I can't find what I am looking for. Never mind, I will find a youtube.I was inspired by a new Hymns and Gospel songbook for ukulele that I received in the post this week.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... the sun is shining brilliantly now at 6pm. It has been cloudy, sunny, then 5 minutes later a heavy shower of rain, an unusual day for our area. I was down near the PO when it started  to rain, but I had my trusty umbrella, so .... no worries.
I am thinking... it has been a good day, walking this morning, then to a morning tea put on by our local member to honour our annual Woman of the Electorate for her community work,  probably an Australia Day thing. I went along with a few ladies from our church group, then a friend called in this afternoon unexpectedly... a lovely day.
I am thankful for... my friend's operation, I heard from her hubby late last night, and thankful for a lot of other things too.
From the kitchen... DH made our first home-made butter, and it only took a few minutes, and it is so sweet and tasty... and no chemicals or additives. I was making some delicious pumpkin soup while that was happening.  I've saved some of the Jap pumpkin seeds, hope to plant some later.

I am wearing... a sleeveless top and gym pants.
I am creating... nothing special
I am going... singing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, then two weeks clear.
I am reading... nothing new this week. I did finish Chaff Upon the Wind though, I had put it aside for a few days..

I am hoping... still hoping and praying for my family
I am hearing...the evening news on TV
Around the house...could do with a little picking up
One of my favorite things... today....sweet homemade butter..... I will take some pics next time
A few plans for the rest of the week: Saturday we are going to a new music group in the area. I have been keeping up with them on Facebook.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing... I've been posting some scenic photos on the other blog 50+ and Loving Life
Here.... a youtube today

I won't be posting to The Simple Woman's Daybook, but if you would like to visit Peggy and see more Daybooks, click here.

And have a very pleasant week.

The Simple Woman's Daybook with Jan

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... a bright clear sunny hot day.
I am thinking... of the people of north east Qld with the monster, biggest ever cyclone Yasi forecast to cross the coast about midnight tonight. Many people have evacuated or bunkered down and the streets are deserted in the towns and cities in the path of the devastation.
I am thankful for...  for our moderate climate, it may get a bit hot sometime, but it hardly ever gets windy or storms

From the kitchen... nearly time to think of our next meal... nothing exciting planned.
I am wearing... mid blue top and black gym pants
I am creating... nothing much... I don't think sorting out the household bills counts!
I am going... to the normal weekly events this week.... it is great to get back to routine
I am reading... a book my friend Val lent me when we were at Care&Share yesterday.
" from being abondoned as a small child and being taught by his environment to hate Christians, people, and God, he was able to turn his life around and see Jesus. Incredible evidence that Jesus is life-changing, and real, and the Savior." Link here including 'look inside the book'.
I am hoping... that everyone is safe in the path of the cyclone
I am hearing... the coverage about the cyclone on TV
Around the house... fairly tidy... we have visitors regularly on Tuesday (last) night so we usually vacuum and clean on Tuesday now.
One of my favorite things... having good freinds over
A few plans for the rest of the week... just routine the rest of this week.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Thanks to Peggy for The Simple Woman's Daybook.  Click here for the link.

With love and blessing for a very pleasant week for you.

~ TODAY ~ at Jan's Place

Outside my window... it is hot and sunny 34C or about 93F in the shade now at 4.15pm on Tuesday.

I am thinking... we have had so many things piling up, an unexpected trip to the dentist, our car at the mechanics, but still I am very thankful we are coping well with them.

I am thankful  ... that my trip to the dentist went so well this morning, it could have been a lot worse. They were so gentle, the nurse even held my shoulder when I was having the needle.

From the kitchen... Barry made a lovely one-pot lunch and he put a dash of cayenne, it was so tasty.

I am wearing... beige top with embroidery and navy toned skirt.

I am creating... peace and quiet.

I am going... out for lunch for Barry's birthday(on Sunday)  tomorrow. We are skipping the Australia Day festivities as it is too hot to be outdoors.

I am reading... nothing special to mention.

I am hoping... that there are no more unexpected expenses for a while!!

I am hearing... birds tweeting outside, I usually only notice them in the mornings.

Around the house... there are a few cob-webs that should be attended to.  Still trying to get back to the garden, but not today.

One of my favorite things...   have I mentioned Tilda lately? This is the hardest one for me as I don't really worry about 'things', and I don't want to mention food too often...LOL
Ok....Tilda and Barry in our RV.... and it was Barry who wanted those curtains.... not me!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Things are still on hold for January here, walking, exercise, tennis and bible study all start again next week.  Our friends cancelled for tonight as she was not well and on the way to the doctor, and that suited me too.

Here is the picture for thought found online I am sharing...
The Tall ship reminds me of the sailing ships that brought the First Fleet and two of my ancestors to Australia.  I often think of the letter that Matthew (who was one of only seven who could read and write) wrote back to the man who was responsible for his conviction that he had reconciled with, saying he thanked God every day that he had been sent to Australia. I have a copy in a book.

~ TODAY ~ The Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window... The day started off without a cloud in the sky, now it is alternating between sunny and cloudy. The temperature is pleasantly warm.

I am thinking... how comfortable and nice it is where we live, and yet there is such a responsibility on our governments to ensure the future in the face of world problems, deforestation, GMO foods, etc etc. Where would we be without being able to hand our concerns over to Him? It is not ourselves I have concerns for, but our grandchildren and their possible children.

I am thankful for... living in an area considered to be flood-free, that is what they say on our local council website. We do have flood insurance, and after seeing what happened in Toowoomba I will keep it up.

From the kitchen... I made some naan bread, no particular recipe, with gluten free flour, just to try it.  We enjoyed it for lunch and I will investigate some recipes.

I am wearing... striped polo shirt and 3/4 pants.  Just realised its the 'where's wally' shirt again!!!

I am creating... a new blog, if that counts LOL. Already a friend who does not have her own blog has joined, it is a team blog named 50+ and Loving Life . Everyone welcome.

I am going... to the PO to check for mail (we do get home delivery but hubby prefers mail to go to PO) and on for a couple of items for supper (snack at 10pm with guests) tonight.

I am reading... second time around on a book I bought about 2 or 3 years ago.  It was missing for more than a year, I knew I lent it, and when our youth pastor was packing up to prepare to go to Taiwan as a missionary she found it and returned it just before Christmas.
It is by an Australian woman about her time in Nepal with her husband and young boys at the time of the civil war there.

I am hoping... that my young seedlings survive, it has been hot at times.

I am hearing... Australian Open tennis on TV.... Some of the young Australian are winning their first round.

Around the house... the lawn is long after the weeks of rain.

One of my favorite things... today I have to say January at home, so relaxing

A few plans for the rest of the week.... good friends coming over tonight, not much else this week, with all our usual activities on hold for January.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing... the new Calendar, thinking about plans for the year. We have concerts right up to Christmas 2011 already.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

True Contentment BJHoff
    Lord,
grant me true contentment...
acceptance of what each day brings,
joy in you and not in things.
I have learned to be content whatever
the circumstances. I can do everything
through Him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:11,13

Thanks to Peggy for this concept.  More Daybooks here

The Simple Woman's Daybook with Jan

Outside my window... It is a cloudy morning, though I don't think it will rain.
I am thinking...busy today, meeting a friend for coffee at Windara, and getting ready for a few days away, and guests tonight.
I am thankful for... friends and the Australian way of life.
From the kitchen... haven't been out there yet, hubby brought me a cup of green tea.
I am wearing... nightwear
I am creating... nothing yet today...LOL
I am going... to have a busy day
I am reading... a novel from the library by Ann  Doughty. I really like her too... a simple everyday story about a girl growing up in Ireland in the 1950s after both her parents died. It is described as an enchanting tale, and it does have a positive feel to it.
I am hoping... for nice weather for the next few days while we are away in our RV
I am hearing... the chirp of many birds outside my window, and the occasional traffic on the main road. It is always louder when it is cloudy.
Around the house...  I daresay I will scoot around soon, there is always something to put away.
One of my favorite things... the early morning.....the freshness of the new day etc.
A few plans for the rest of the week:  Get a hairtrim while I am out this morning, Lynn and Brian tonight, then during the day pack the RV.  Col rang last night and organised for us to meet them and another couple  from our live- aboard (on the yacht) days, they all did too, and now we all have RVs.   We are meeting up near the Clarence River.... and only a half km from other friends, so we will see them too.
Here is picture of the bridge that we will be staying within sight of for a couple of days.....
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY  BJ Hoff
Life is a gift -
and I celebrate it!
The future is yours Lord -
and I welcome it!
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Cor 9:15

~ TODAY ~ at Jan's Place

Outside my window... Finally the sun peeked out for a few minutes today. We have been having torrential rain from cyclone Tasha that has been lashing the QLD coast. The river is up in our town but it will not affect us, except that the roads will be cut. Still we have plenty of food and don't have to go anywhere.
I am thinking... that life is good, we have so much. I'm thinking of Chrissie too, we had a long chat on FB today.
I am thankful for... our home, our country town, the guidance that brought us here
From the kitchen... will finish the Christmas meat tonight.
I am wearing... A striped polo shirt and blue capri pants.  I have to remember not to wear this shirt when I go for a haircut as the hairdresser says 'Where's Wally" when I walk in...LOL
I am creating... just some knitting for my Care and Share group
I am going... nowhere, isn't it nice when we have no commitments and can just relax or whatever.
I am reading... nothing special, I've finished my library books.... I may swap them tomorrow when things open again... yesterday and today, Monday and Tuesday are public holidays here.
I am hoping... nothing in particular
I am hearing... the local news on the TV, the floods, the progress of the Sydney Hobart Yacht race
Around the house... I've brought the pot plants back in, that I had outside for a drink of rainwater
One of my favorite things... ginger... to eat raw or to admire blooms on the plants.  My Haleconia has dozens of blooms just now,(pic from online).

A few plans for the rest of the week: relaxing at home, then we do a New Years Eve concert on Friday.
Here is a picture I am sharing... I'll just download the pics of our river I took this morning.
THOUGHT for Today: BJ Hoff
MY GUIDING HAND
God be in my life every moment, every day....
Be the guiding hand of everything I do,
Be my hope and aspiration,
Be my joy and inspiration,
Let each part of life, the heart of life,
be you.
O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods. Psalm 63:1, 3, 5

Snippets from my Journal

Outside my window... It is dark, 9.15pm, and no moon, but it has been a very pleasant, sunny day, calm max 27C and about 19C now

I am thinking... that a lot has happened since I posted last week. We have had quite a few people drop in, and expected visitors for lunch last Saturday, another sister and hubby and a grandson. Afer that I attended an fashion parade - afternoon tea at a church hall which was a fundraiser for the child they support overseas.

I am thankful for... family and friends. I am also thankful to have news from daughter, that things are moving for her.

From the kitchen... the last thing was my cup of Milo. Must mention that Barry roasted a chicken in the camp oven (outdoor) last Saturday, and it was so tender and moist.

I am wearing...a summer nightie

I am creating... hand knit items and crochet for Missions without borders. Finally I am really happy with the face on the teddy bears, and I have eight waiting for their faces and fill, and I learnt a new way to crochet scarves at the Care and Share this morning.

I am going... just usual things this week.... bible study, exercise.

I am reading...Insight into Forgiveness by R kallmier and S Jacobs, and starting the eight session Christ Empowered Living handbook and DVD by Selwyn Hughes.

I am hoping...that our friend that we left our harmony pedal with this afternoon will come up with a solution as to why it is faulty. Barry tested it and it is OK for about half an hour then stops. We had a nice visit with them too.

I am hearing... Barry playing a youtube

Around the house... tidier than usual. My Peace Lily is doing well. It was drooping most of the time and since I have been sitting it in an additional bowl of water, it has been happy.

One of my favorite things...Springtime, it is so pleasant not to have to think of heating or cooling. and the birds seem even more joyous than usual.

A few plans for the rest of the week.... we are visiting a friend who was here yesterday so excited about her Wii exercise program. We are going out on Thursday for lunch.  They live 27kms out of town.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing... a Jacaranda tree I snapped as I walked through town to meet our walking group this morning. They can be glimpsed all through town at present, in parks and also private gardens.

We sat and enjoyed a Celtic Woman DVD this morning after I got back from Care and Share. Here is a song for you, the last number on our DVD, though it is at a different venue. Our neighbours have gone to Brisbane to see Celtic Woman this week, and have invited us over to see new DVDs when they get home next week.

I thank Peggy for the headings, and click here to see more journals.

Trusting you are having a good week.

And a big vote of appreciation to all my readers who call in here, with a special thanks to those who leave comments and have become friends.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... just coming on dark, been a pleasant day 25C or 77F
I am thinking... about our online friend who is in Vanouver concerning her brother's transplant. We haven't heard from her yet.
I am thankful for... our safe holiday and trip
From the kitchen... nothing yet, though we had a home-made pizza for lunch.
I am wearing... a cotton blouse and navy 3/4 pants
I am creating... nothing yet
I am going... to stay home mainly this week. It is school holidays here and regular events are in recess.  Strange when most of us are over 60!
I am reading... The Navigator by Morrris West. An Australian author now passed, who usually wrote Christian based novels. I am intrigued by the ancient ways of navigating the Pacific.

I am hoping... that I get a bit more motivated, have not made best use of my time since we got home. Still I have planted some berry plants and done a bit of gardening.
I am hearing... the news on TV
Around the house... a bit to do to.
One of my favorite things... Blueberries, and I hope I have my own in due course.  I have to do something to stop the birds getting them. Mine have green ones on at the moment, looking forward to these, pic from internet.

A few plans for the rest of the week.... we are singing on Friday afternoon. With Green and Gold for the Commonwealth Games.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Received it by email this morning.... my daughter second from left graduating from her (mature age) university course.

Have a blessed week.
Love, Jan

 TODAY
Outside my window...  the sun is just up, another glorious day on the way, 26C expected and it is the first day of Spring here in Australia.
I am thinking... I've just had a wonderful chat with Sharon on Windows Live.
I am thankful ... that we can reach around the world on our computers
From the kitchen... Barry just brought me a lovely hot cup of Milo.
I am wearing... Nightwear..... I'm still in bed on my laptop.
I am creating... I am passionate about my garden at the moment.... I've made a major attack on the weeds, and I even planted red and green lettuce alternately in the gaps in my cottage garden at the front ..... LOL.
I am going... to Bible Study this morning, then the tip with our green waste.

I am reading... Max Lucado.... I've joined his community too.  Another book I read from the library this week that I really enjoyed is Always  and Forever by Cathy Kelly... in the style of Maeve Binchly
I am hoping... to do more in the garden this week.
I am hearing... Barry playing an Irish tune on the mandolin - Hills on Connemara.  It is 7.15am and all is well.
Around the house... so many little birds singing outside... I often marvel that they have survived the urban (country town) environment.  We've seen a lot of wrens lately, I love watching them out the kitchen window.
One of my favorite things...  perfect opening to say blue wrens!!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  a quietish week, will get to tennis on Friday.... main project is to take the green waste to the tip, and there will be a few loads.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...  another family photo when son was celebrating his birthday.  Even though family so far away, with the help of all the technology nowadays, we can still share our lives.  Son is so thankful and excited that he is seeing his daughter regularly now.

Son, daughter-in-law, one of my grandaughters

Have a Blessed week, Friends.

TODAY - Journal

TODAY
Outside my window... Dark now, but it has been drizzling most of the day.  I heard there is a flood warning for an inland town in our State, NSW.

I am thinking... Nice today..... we had two lots of friends drop in (not at the same time)... we love to see them and have a good chat

I am thankful for... the fellowship we have in this town at the places we go

From the kitchen... we will have fresh fruit and greek yoghurt soon.

I am wearing... still my walking clothes from this morning.

I am creating... order in the garden again, did quite a bit on Sunday afternoon, and planted a few rocket seedlings in some empty spots in the front garden yesterday...LOL.

I am going... singing, we will be going to Lismore the next three days, I was a bit surprised I thought it was two days, got up very early this morning to check.

I am reading... The Firstborn Advantage by Dr Kevin Leman. I don't remember if I've mentioned this before. It was surprising to recognise some of my traits in the book.

I am hoping... that this gentle rain continues, and it doesn't get heavier.

I am hearing... well, I've just muted the TV, an insight program is on, and I didn't like the lies the politician was saying.

Around the house... the washing is waiting for someone to fold it...LOL

One of my favorite things... Daffodils. They don't grow here, but I bought a bunch last week. They are still perfect.

A few plans for the rest of the week....Singing, tennis, a quiet weekend I think.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

With love and Blessings for a lovely week.

Frightening wind, Snow

Just chatting to my daughter in the west of the Blue Mountains, NSW, and the wind is frightening there, and it is snowing.... She doesn't know if she will be able to drive to work tomorrow!  My thoughts with any other Australian friends in this weather pattern too.

We are on the Northern Rivers of NSW and have had such a warm weekend, I'm sitting here in the middle of winter at 9.15pm in a T-shirt.  Might be a different story in a few days.

We were down there when the weather was extraordinary last September, there was an incredible dust storm that carried dust right across to New Zealand, then snow, then wind that was so strong it turned a semi-trailer over not far from her home.  We had to wait for it to die down to leave.

One of the reasons we chose to live here, we could count the windy days in the year on one hand....

Here are a couple of pics from back then....

The alpacas took shelter from the snow

A couple of kangaroos in the snow

We had a fairly quiet weekend, now I need to get another knitting project going, I missed it today.  It will be for Care and Share as we don't need anything ourselves.

It was also Friendship Day today, though I haven't heard of it here in Australia, just see mention of it online, and that it has been going in US since 1935.

Thank you for your kind hands of friendship.

Have a Blessed week.   God Bless.

Hugs - Jan

~ TODAY ~ The Simple Woman's Daybook with Jan

TODAY
Outside my window..... it is just on dusk.  The day started with an unusual heavy fog, then sunny and now cloudy. Hey, just heard on the news there was a variation of 41degrees celsius across NSW!!! -21C at Charlotte Pass, and 21C around here.
I am thinking..... that is amazing, and glad we have such a glorious climate.
I am thankful for .... all the good things we have in our lives.
From the kitchen.... beautiful big Australian navel oranges.
I am wearing..... White blouse, blue warm vest, black slack.
I am creating.... still knitting.
I am going..... out to eat tonight.
I am reading....  30 Days 2010  I got a copy at the Aglow morning tea today.
I am hoping..... that all the hype leading up to the federal election will not irritate me too much.
I am hearing..... the news on the radio.
Around the house..... some sewing in the pipeline.
One of my favourite things...... my pot plants... I only have a few, but I appreciate them.
A few plans for the rest of the week.......still a fairly quiet week, singing on Friday.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...   one of my GDs celebrating her 21st.
I am sharing here only today, but should you wish to see more of The Simple Woman's Daybook, please visit Peggy at this link.

~ TODAY ~ The Simple Woman's Daybook with Jan

TODAY
Outside my window...... it is dark, again, but it was the most glorious 24C day, and this is the middle of winter.
I am thinking...... what a lovely day it was, meeting my walking friends this morning, and then a wonderful musical afternoon with our RV friends. They were in QLD and came down for a couple of days just to see us, very humbling.
I am thankful for...... DH better again, the lovely weather, friends who care, all my online friends and so much more.
From the kitchen..... just a snack this evening.
I am wearing..... white long sleeve top, blue sleeveless vest, fitting blue jeans and ankle boots.
I am creating..... a knitted top.  It is made in one piece up to the armholes and I was struggling to fit all the stitches on the needles, then my friend showed me how to use circular needles, and when I got home I remembered that I was given a set a few months ago.

We am going..... to lunch at the club tomorrow with our friends.

I am reading...... still reading the book from last week.
I am hearing...... not much..... DH is next to me watching a DVD on his laptop with earphones on..... ah.. I can hear some traffic for a few seconds now.
Around the house...  all is well... Tilda is in DHs lap, everything is snug.
One of my favourite things...... enjoying the glorious days that we are blessed with at present.
A few plans for the rest of the week..... we get back to our concerts at the Aged Care homes.
Here is a picture for thought I am sharing........
