Yesterday, Good Friday, people in Church, and a feeling of quietness.... later we were invited to friends and as we were out and about realised there was very little traffic and I didn’t hear a lawnmower all day. Around here anyway there was a feeling of respect and quietness.

We have often gone away over the Easter break as the weather is very pleasant after the heat of summer. Last weekend I had a nasty stomach bug (cramps and inflammation, but not diarrhoea thankfully) which I have now heard has afflicted a number of locals. I wasn’t completely well until Thursday, so we weren’t up to going away, particularly as we have a heavy week of concerts (four) Tuesday to Friday next week.
We were considering two local events.... actually both about 100kms away, the Maclean Highland Gathering
or the Rathdowney HeritageFestival.

We have nothing on today, so we will take a walk downtown this morning and then I will do a little in the garden and enjoy the sunshine and the warbling of the magpies and twitter of the smaller birds I can hear through my open window.
