Lasting Gifts

Whatever we may think about Oprah, we have been overwhelmed by her unbounded enthusiasm for Australia and Australians this week.  We have enjoyed a trip around our country with her and her ultimate travellers.
Here is a pic from the news, by helicopter no doubt, at the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge.

For ourselves, we are in our busiest week of the year.

It started off on Sunday, with church in the morning, a farewell lunch to our Youth Pastor who is going to Taiwan as a missionary, then a concert by invitation at a friends beautiful home, set in acres of breathtaking gardens, just out of town, then a combined Church service for Christmas in the evening.

At the afternoon concert four beautriful singers who have formed a group entertained us and a sumptuous afternoon tea was served in the pergola in the grounds at interval.

Our favourite number was Fields of Gold. Here is Celtic Woman performing it on Youtube.

Then into the concerts this week. After the Christmas concert today we were invited to a delicious Christmas lunch with the staff, and we have four more concerts this week.

It is 7.00pm and we are just waiting for friends to arrive.

THE LASTING GIFTS BJ Hoff
Lord, lift our eyes above
the trimmings and the tinsel....
Let us look past temporary things
to see the lasting gifts
which you have promised,
the joy and peace
that life in Jesus brings.
Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17

With love and Blessings,
Jan

Wonderful aerial view of the bridge. I just returned home from a month away and heard that Oprah was now in Australia. I will be sure to try and catch some of the shows. Sounds like you're having a wonderful lead up to Christmas. God bless xx
