Snippets from my Journal

Outside my window... It is dark, 9.15pm, and no moon, but it has been a very pleasant, sunny day, calm max 27C and about 19C now

I am thinking... that a lot has happened since I posted last week. We have had quite a few people drop in, and expected visitors for lunch last Saturday, another sister and hubby and a grandson. Afer that I attended an fashion parade - afternoon tea at a church hall which was a fundraiser for the child they support overseas.

I am thankful for... family and friends. I am also thankful to have news from daughter, that things are moving for her.

From the kitchen... the last thing was my cup of Milo. Must mention that Barry roasted a chicken in the camp oven (outdoor) last Saturday, and it was so tender and moist.

I am wearing...a summer nightie

I am creating... hand knit items and crochet for Missions without borders. Finally I am really happy with the face on the teddy bears, and I have eight waiting for their faces and fill, and I learnt a new way to crochet scarves at the Care and Share this morning.

I am going... just usual things this week.... bible study, exercise.

I am reading...Insight into Forgiveness by R kallmier and S Jacobs, and starting the eight session Christ Empowered Living handbook and DVD by Selwyn Hughes.

I am hoping...that our friend that we left our harmony pedal with this afternoon will come up with a solution as to why it is faulty. Barry tested it and it is OK for about half an hour then stops. We had a nice visit with them too.

I am hearing... Barry playing a youtube

Around the house... tidier than usual. My Peace Lily is doing well. It was drooping most of the time and since I have been sitting it in an additional bowl of water, it has been happy.

One of my favorite things...Springtime, it is so pleasant not to have to think of heating or cooling. and the birds seem even more joyous than usual.

A few plans for the rest of the week.... we are visiting a friend who was here yesterday so excited about her Wii exercise program. We are going out on Thursday for lunch.  They live 27kms out of town.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing... a Jacaranda tree I snapped as I walked through town to meet our walking group this morning. They can be glimpsed all through town at present, in parks and also private gardens.

We sat and enjoyed a Celtic Woman DVD this morning after I got back from Care and Share. Here is a song for you, the last number on our DVD, though it is at a different venue. Our neighbours have gone to Brisbane to see Celtic Woman this week, and have invited us over to see new DVDs when they get home next week.

I thank Peggy for the headings, and click here to see more journals.
With love and Blessings, Jan

Trusting you are having a good week.

What a pleasant post, Jan! I love to
find new drinks other than coffee.
What is milo?
The jacaranda tree is just beautiful!
I love spring too but we sure are
enjoying our autumn right now.
Celtic Woman is such an awesomely
talented group. Even when members
come and go they still manage to
keep that unique sound.
Sweet blessings,
Sandy

The little graphic on the top of your post is just adorable!! Love it! =) Sounds like you've been kept pretty busy with guests and knitting projects (would love to see a pic of what you're working on one day =D). Great snapshot of the tree (the trees here are getting ready for the winter). Have a pleasant week! =)

Dear Friends, thank you for your comments.
Sandy, Milo is a great drink for early morning and evening, made from malted barley with a chocolate taste but not bitter like cocoa.
Yes, the Jacarandas are beautiful this year.
Jocelyn, I will take a pic of the teddy. The pattern is very simple if you are interested, and very pleasant to knit when relaxing, and satisfying to know it will bring comfort to a needy child.
Ann your history site is very interesting.
With love and blessings.

Lovely visit here on your blog as I visit you just before I head for the hay! It's been a long day and I'm pleasantly tired. So nice to read about your full day! Love that song!

Hi Jan,

Nice summary of your day! Jacarandas are so beautiful when they line streets. When they are big and the sun peeps through they create a magical experience. Thanks for the visit and I'm happy you like the video I posted.

Jan what an incredible post .... loved reading every single word of it.

Wonder if you would care to share the new way to crochet scarves that you learned????

I have one of those peace lilies too -- quite large actually and yes they really do like their water. I did not know what my plant was called until I saw the picture of yours.

Sorry I did not make it into chat today, the gentleman that used to own my home popped in for an unexpected visit which was lovely. I really do not get a great deal of company with the exception of family but I am not complaining.

Have a wonderful day and hopefully we will touch base in chat tomorrow. Yvonne will be home soon and I am making a cheese omelet and hash browns and toast for supper. Easy, quick and quite lovely really.

All my love,
Sharon

Hello Jan~ Thank you for your kind visit to The Santos Times. I was going to ask what Milo was, but just read it in your comments. Sounds yummy. I love the Jacaranda tree. I'm going to look them up with my children. We love to study birds and trees.

Hope you have a pleasant Spring day. We are having a cold Autumn day.
