This was the first overnight trip with four others, The banks are very steep in our area.
Next Barry went to see his son for his 50th birthday in the Blue Mountains and I did a lot of cleaning up in the vege patch while he was away.
Then I went to Sydney on Friday night on the overnight train and met up with Barry, saw my darling granddaughter and met her man, and picked up a soprano mandolin I bought on ebay for $90, and also purchased an octave mandolin which is a dream come true.
We arrived home Sunday night and my son and darling d-i-l arrived Monday morning which was Australia Day for an overnight stay. Robert was very complimentary of my cooking, and it was a great visit.
Since then Barry has had another kayak camping trip, this time downstream from town, seven went altogether. There was a bit of drama at the end when they decided they wanted to be picked up earlier than expected and somehow my phone was on silent Barry could not contact me and he called my friend who was passed from one to another where I had been during the morning until she caught up with me after I wandered home.
Today was my first public performance of my octave, in church with Lynn and Barry. and very happy, so much so that I am planning to participate in the Monday Night Music tomorrow night.
That's all for now.
With love.

Those kayak trips sound exciting, although I'm way too coward to go in kayaks. I'm not a water person really. It's lovely to see some summer pictures! :)
Thanks, Susanne. I will be going on some day kayak trips, in fact we are planning to go to a large recreational dam area with friends for three days in a few weeks.
It has been hot at times, being Summer, but even in Winter our average day temperature is about 20C (68F) and we usually only have a few bleak days.
